You won't have much trouble getting in. With a great MCAT and great GPA after your break from academia, write a good personal statement. While I agree with your last statement CaribMD, people with similar stats get in every year. Though it isn't the norm, it does happen. Your GPA is low, and your MCAT is average for DO matriculants. If you apply broadly and have good letters/extracurricular activities, then you have a shot. People do get in with lower stats. Your GPA is low, your MCAT is a few points above average, and your EC's sound good. Assuming that you have a good letter, you seem like you have a good shot. If you can retake the MCAT for a better score, that would only help. As far as "Top DO schools", this is a hard one to answer. The o...
