Re: Calculus and D.O. application

If you don't like calculus, don't need it, can graduate without it, and may be able to get some money back, then DROP IT!

Call the schools you are applying to, and tell them that you dropped the calculus course, and it won't be a big deal at all.

Good luck.

Re: WHY...

The gap is getting smaller every year as far as matriculant GPA and MCAT. As an osteopathic medical student, i think that DO schools really look at the whole package, not just scores (I am a prime example of this). Re: Should I apply now or Wait?

It is a bit late in the application cycle, but most schools are barely started with interviews. I would apply if your MCAT score is 25 or better. You have a markedly upward trend in your GPA, so that is a big plus. There is no reason to take a year off if you don't have to (assuming you are chomping...

Re: CHANCES WITH THIS GPA/MCAT

You should apply right now. The sooner you apply, the better a shot you have. Your GPA is great, and your MCAT is only 2-3 points below the average matriculant score, so you are in great shape. Apply broadly, and I don't think you will have a problem. Worst case scenario, you don't get in this year ...
