Hey,
i am a 5th year med student at cambridge university. i am about to undertake USMLE step 1 this month and plan to finish 2ck/cs by June next year. I have never had clinical experience in the USA, hence i have no recommendations. I do have plenty of experience here though and my elective will be in australia where i can get some letters. Would it be foolish to apply for a residency next november without a letter from a US physician? Should i leave it a year to move to the US and do an observership in that time? I am all for having a year off before i start my residency to get these letters if need be.
Foolish to have no US letters of recommendation?
