canada?

Post by nel8856 »

Ok quick question--I know a few people at my school who say that if they can't get into the US schools they are going to apply to the caribbean schools. Ok that's fine, but I was just wondering, what about canada? How difficult are canadian schools to get into when it comes to medical schools as compared to the United States?

Check out www.princetonreview.com to get their reported scores and gpa averages. Also, check out the individual school sites to find out how you would stack up as a non-canadian resident.

Canadian schools

It's very difficult to get into canadian schools.

Almost impossible. There are all sorts of government-specified restrictions on IMGs. You have to wait for the second iteration, and even then you are ranked at the bottom no matter how good your credentials are. I know, I see tons of IMG friends suffering through it year after year. One of them finally got Psychiatry out in Manitoba (the Canadian equivalent of North Dakota).

Better off trying to get in the US
