Re: best movies about medical school / Doctors
The best I've seen so far, and very inspirational to those who are practicing medicine and a great film in general, would be the 2004 made for TV movie entitled, "Something the Lord Made" with Alan Rickman, Mos Def & Mary Stuart Masterson. It's about a surgeon (Rickman) and a gifted lab technition (Mos Def) who take on the challenge of blue babies and, with the help of another doctor's data (Masterson), invent bypass surgery (1941). The movie is also about the discrimination women and African Americans went through those times. A very deep film that will keep you glued to set from begining to the end. Enjoy.

"The Fugitive", starring Harrison Ford as a doctor (pediatrician) who goes on the run. That was a great one

Oh, and "Doctor Zhivago", with Omar Sharif as the battlefield surgeon (and poet), the title character. Goes without saying that the film is now a classic.
