Just did my first practise test.

Post by mycall306 »

just did my first practise test, with no reading or studying prior to doing it : 6VR/10BS/7PS. Im hoping to get aound a 33 (11, 11, 11) when i do the real mcat in about 6 months. Is this practical or should i aim a little lower? and did anyone out there get such low scores the first time they did it and ended up doing much better in the real mcat? I need some kind of motivation :)

I got a lower score on my first practice test :)

33 is realistic with 6 months of study time. Just make sure you make a schedule and stick to it. you don't want to burn out and you don't want to peak two months before the test. Do lots of full length practice tests, especially the ones put out by the AAMC. You want to score at least a 33 and above on your practice tests two weeks or so before you take the actual test. And don't listen to people who say this or that practice test inflates the scores. Most people drop a few points on the actual test, so aim high so that even if you drop a few points you'll still reach your goal.
