Advice on MCAT Score

Post by dreamforest75 »

Hi,
My recent MCAT score is 29Q, with 14 P, 9 B, and 6 V.
I know I definitely will not get into anywhere with that 6 in verbal so I have to retake the MCAT. Verbal has always been my weakest and I have been doing 7 verbal passages per day until the exam day. Are there any advice or suggestions on how should I improve for my verbal section? I am really desperate about my verbal score because it is just so low.
Thank you so much for your help.

Well not really true, Medical schools are not weighing the Verbal as high as the Science

You do have a better chance to raise the score Due to Verbal

But do not retake the MCAT for just that and especially if:
This is not the first time you took it
English is not your first language

In my opinion its enough to get accepted into any US medical school

Whats the other stats?
AMCAS GPA?
Did you volunteer and Shadow and Patient experience?

I blog about this stuff quite a bit and I agree with CaribMD, don't count yourself out without that score (See link 1). But if you're going to retake I recommend looking at links 2 and 3.

I found examkrackers 101 verbal practice questions outstanding

Thank you for your help. I don't really know what happens to me on the verbal section.
I have did a lot of passages including TPR and examkrackers.
I am thinking maybe there is something wrong with my method of taking the verbal section?
Thank you very much.

maybe it's nerves? Sometimes just being nervous or anxious can interfere with your ability to process information quickly, which is exactly what the verbal is about. If that's the case, you might want to spend as much time finding ways to relax before your next verbal as you do taking practice exams.
