Xavier Aruba issues

Post by SGTmeth »

Hi,

I recently got accepted in Xavier (apart from a few others). However, I am coming across a lot of negative reviews by former students about this school on forums.

Could someone please confirm if those comments are just rumors or actually real?

Things like :
1> Unfriendly staff

2> No copy of official transcript

3> Problem with getting ECFMG since Xavier does not do its job...

4> They taking your money and not returning back when promised

5> Lot of bullying going on

6> Students sleeping with professors to pass

7> A lot of faculty underqualified

8> Pathetic living conditions

9> Only 5% students passing USMLE!

Please could someone provide me with some genuine feedback please?

Thanks.

Hmm, yes I heard of these when I was at St. James on Bonaire

I transferred to All Saints, now Aureus on Aruba,
Aureus has
Better facilities
Better clinicals
No ECFMG problems

I know
I graduated and I'm an MD from Aureus the cert that was done with ECFMG went fine.

Sorry I'm not posting them on the net.
Its enough that I passed and I'm in the 2012 Match

I graduated with another from my School from Canada and he's in the Match too this year.

When it comes to the Caribbean there is no real such thing as a "School reputation"
We are all seen as FMG.

My view on passing the USMLE has not changed its

25% the school and 75% the student.

You are more responsible for passing than the school.

The higher failure rate of FMG's is due to poor students not the school.

Kaplan review material
USMLE World Q bank on line
First aid

use these for 3 to 6 months and you will pass if you can get 70% correct on USMLE world timed blocks.
