I guess with her having a 6yr old child already-its not only sibling rivalry, which we think might still be an issue, but its the fact that my partner feels like when her 6yr old gets to a certain age, say-10yrs if we wait-then she won't want to start from scratch again with a new baby...she feels as if she will lose her passion for having a child if we wait too long. And I don't wanna risk not having any children with her...I don't plan on adopting her current child-the father is very active in her life. They basically have joint custody without a court order so adopting isn't an option, nor would I ever do that to her father.
Honestly 24 plus 3 or 4 years still puts you at 27/28 the perfect age to have a kid, you have more patients at this time, even more at 35, I'm 45 and still I have more patients and wisdom...........
I think you really need to look at this as path and journey not a rush to the finish, Life is to be enjoyed, embraced and at times the challenges handled. Life is impossible to plan in reality since a lot of things cannot be controlled, they can only be managed. I have taken a lot of time off this past year from school and will graduate later then I planned, but its because of life issues.
Theres a good time to have children and bring them into the world to share and be taught about life.
I personally feel when you are young and going through a process of learning and stress its not a good time to bring a child into the world and subject them to that stress, plus while doable, having a child while in school, you have less time to pay attention to a being who is helpless and needs you.
Just my opinion.
Get your education then have another child. Theres a time for everything and you have a lot of time.
