Are you normal is just a matter of sentiment. Your friend likely hangs with people obsessed with stats. I am sure you have a minority of friends who do. So yes, in effect - you are normal.

Following and learning meaningless stats compared to learning something that you enjoy ... hmm .... which one of those seems more normal?

PS. Yes, I enjoy watching sports occasionaly too ;), but the value does not go up if I know which player had the best or worst season so far, which team has achieved 5 victories in a row or which one couldn't score in last 5 games.

I rather play sports rather follow..unless its the finals.

I like to watch football. I am a big fan of English premier league. I also like baseball and hockey. Tennis is one of my favorite sport. Roger Federar is my favorite player.

As I've experienced, I don't have a lot of time as I used to back in elementary school to follow sports. It's become a fun topic of conversation with my son, who enjoys sports, and a good way to get him to read the newspaper!
