Finding a good residency and entering through huge competition is a real chances. I would suggest - prepare, work hard on personal statement and don't be afraid to ask for help and advice.

Clinical research is an interesting field. But if a person wants to become a nurse they need to stay motivated and keep on working hard. Everything is possible. The most important thing is being healthy. When you are healthy and young you can achieve anything! Even get residency! You just have to write a good personal statement, study hard and work hard too! :D
